We had a blast during the annual Booster Day's celebration this year! As usual we set up the fireman's water fight on Saturday, and this year instead of battling against each other, Brandon Volunteer Fire Department - Brandon, South Dakota brought a team of 3 out and battled it out with a few of VSFD finest. Although they were able to pull off the win in our best 2 out of 3 competition we were absolutely thrilled that they came out to have some fun with us! We may have only went 1 round but the kids were ready to have fun and play in the water on the hot day! Thank you Brandon fire department members and all the vsfd members who participated! Hope to see you next year!

Tonights training was water supply and pump operations. We practiced with engin 1 and engine 2 drafting water from a drop tank, as well as going over scene size up. Practice like this ensures that all members have sufficient knowledge on how to properly approach, size up, and establish water supply on a fire scene. It was a great night for training! We even had some kids join in on the fun!

This month's training looked a little different. We were set up to do mutual aid motor vehicle accident training with Brandon Fire Department, but due to weather we decided to do some indoor training in Brandon instead. Training consisted of knots, forced entry, 2 man drag, rescue rope toss, and an extrication equipment exercise.

Thank you to Brandon Fire Department for the invite and hosting the training! Training with our neighbors that we work with regurlarly is vital team building! We are looking forward to many more to come! Brandon Volunteer Fire Department - Brandon, South Dakota
