Valliant Emergency Management

10/15/2026

BIG change coming!
High today was 91°, high Friday around 65°!
N/NW winds 10-25 with Gusts to 35mph beginning early Friday morning and continuing through midnight.

10/14/2026

Fire Weather watch has been issued for McCurtain County beginning Friday at 10am and continues through 1am Saturday!

10/13/2026

Burn Ban is in effect until the 27th of October unless commissioners rescind it before that. Or they issue a new resolution on the regularly scheduled meeting on the 26th. As they meet every week they could actually pass a resolution that is only valid for 7 days if they wished. They are limited to 14 days maximum by law.

10/12/2026

Burn ban expired this morning at 9:30!
Likely that the County Commissioners will pass a resolution Tuesday for another 14 days, unless the forecast calls for more than one-half inch of rain Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!

09/30/2026

Forecast rainfall has backed off some. Calling for 1-3" thru next Wednesday now.
It is very hard to predict where it will rain and even harder to predict how much rainfall will happen in any given place.

09/29/2026

Forecast rainfall thru next Tuesday 3-5" for Southeast Oklahoma!
