✈️ On a flight? Keep it in sight!

When charging your devices in the air, always place portable chargers on your tray table where you can see them.
🚫 Never charge devices in the overhead bins.
🚫 Never charge e-cigarettes or vapes on a plane.
If a battery overheats or fails, quick action from the flight crew makes all the difference.

Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools
outside when possible.
Do not block exits when charging.
These batteries store more energy, and fires can grow quickly if they
fail. For more info: fpw.org.

Charge into smarter habits!

Unplug your device when it is fully charged. Leaving it plugged in
longer than needed can increase heat and stress on the battery.

🚨 Is your device acting up?
Stop using it right away if the battery:
• Smells strange
• Feels warm to the touch
• Makes popping noises
• Changes shape or color
• Starts smoking
If it is safe to do so, move the device away from anything that can catch fire. A damaged battery can overheat and spark a dangerous fire in seconds.

📱 Keep your home safe while powering up your devices!

✅ Do: Charge phones and electronics on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or floor.
⚠️ Don't: Leave devices charging on beds, couches, or soft pillows.
💡 Why: Soft materials trap heat and block airflow, which can cause batteries to dangerously overheat and start a fire.

Strong, resilient, and dedicated—our women in the fire service face every challenge head-on. But this month, we are shining a light on a different kind of battle.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we are standing together to support the brave women who protect our communities every day. Firefighters face unique occupational hazards, making awareness, regular screenings, and early detection more critical than ever.
To the survivors, the fighters, and those who support them: your bravery inspires us all on and off the line. Let’s keep lifting each other up, spreading awareness, and fighting for a healthier future. ❤️
