Happy National Mushroom Day to all those who celebrate! πŸ„πŸ€Ž

Wet weather is coming and with it, mushrooms! Watch where you walk as these fungi start to pop up around site and remember, these organisms are fragile and should be observed but not touched.

Curious what makes mushrooms so special? Check out these fun facts!

Did you know that all mushrooms are fungi, but not all fungi are mushrooms? Fungi include mushrooms, lichen, yeast, plant rusts, molds, and s**t. Mushrooms are fungi with a stem and a cap.

πŸ„ Some mushrooms glow in the dark.
πŸ„ The largest organism in the world is a fungus (covering over 2,000 acres of Oregon forest and estimated to be over 2,400 years old)!
πŸ„ There are about 2,000 known species of fungi in the world.
πŸ„ Fungi are more closely related to animals than plants.
