We can’t be-leaf it’s already October! 🍁🌧️

Fall leaves are everywhere but when they pile up in streets and wash into storm drains, they can carry nutrients and pollution into the streams, rivers, lakes, and streams.

This fall, help keep our waterways clean:
Sweep up. Rake up. Pick up.

Every storm drain you care for makes a difference. 💪🌊

So grab your rake, clear those leaves, and help keep them out of the storm drain. 🍂 New to Adopt-a-Drain? Sign up to adopt a drain at wa.adopt-a-drain.org.

We've been getting a lot of questions about e-bikes in parks and on trails. This information from our friends at Public Health is very helpful.

We are applying for funding to launch a safe-use educational campaign and add more signage in parks and on trails. Until then, we encourage folks to let us know which county parks you see unsafe e-ride use in. We will use that data to help us prioritize which locations receive signage first. We can also share with our law enforcement partners if we are receiving a cluster of reports about the same park.

If you see e-riders causing property damage or a collision, please call 911.

On Tuesday, Oct. 13, crews will work on a restoration project along the Salmon Creek Greenway Trail between the Northwest 36th Avenue entrance and the trail’s intersection with the Cougar Creek Trail. The trail will remain OPEN; however, vehicles will be driving between the project site and Northwest 36th Avenue. We ask trail users to stay aware of their surroundings, follow worker instructions and stay out of any roped-off areas.

Work includes machine and hand cutting of reed canary grass.

This work is part of our collaboration with the Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership to restore tree canopy and native species along the lower Salmon Creek watershed.

Please contact Marci Krass, [email protected] if you have any questions.

Help plan the future of Clark County's parks, trails and natural areas!
We are updating our system plan, and we want to hear from you. Help us understand how parks, trails, and natural areas are used today, what's missing and what we should prioritize in the future.

Take the survey by Nov. 1 to enter for a chance to win one of five $50 gift cards!
The survey takes about five to 10 minutes to complete.

The Clark County Parks and Natural Areas System Plan guides how Clark County cares for and invests in our park system. Built with strong community input, the plan helps prioritize park operations, improvements and future development to reflect what matters most to the community.

👀 Clark County Public Works is piloting a new truck you may see out on county roads!

This truck is sporting new alternating green and amber flashing lights to increase visibility and protect the crews that are working to improve our roadways.
