Social media policy: cityofvancouver.us/commentpolicy Overlooking the Columbia River in Vancouver, Washington, the Water Resources Education Center offers exhibits, events and educational programs designed to teach us all how to be excellent stewards of water resources and how to use water wisely. The Water Center is also caretaker of one of the metropolitan area's few remaining natural Columbia River riparian areas, nearly 50 protected acres of adjacent wetlands providing feeding, nesting and resting habitat for more than 120 species of fish and wildlife. The Water Center is operated by the City of Vancouver's Department of Public Works and is located within the Vancouver National Historic Reserve.

You’re invited to the Migratory Bird Celebration, hosted in partnership with Vancouver Audubon Society 🐦

Join us at the Water Center (4600 S.E. Columbia Way) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19.

Bird lovers of all ages are welcome to enjoy crafts, bird outings, games and more.

We are overjoyed to be partnering with the City of Vancouver's Water Resources Education Center who is serving as the host venue for this year’s Migratory Bird Celebration!

Nestled within 50 acres of riparian wetlands alongside the Columbia River, the Water Resources Education Center works to inspire connections between healthy water and people through education, exploration, and stewardship. This institution is a hub of environmental education with interactive watershed exhibits and hands-on opportunities to explore the plants and animals that make up our native ecosystems, which, of course, includes birds. A stop on the Great Washington State Birding Trail, the Center’s grounds and Marine Park have hosted more than 170 species of birds.

Join us on September 19th to learn about the conservation needs that support bird migration: clean and available water sources, native plants, insects, and habitats. We’ll have bird outings, games, crafts and more!

- When: Saturday, September 19, 2026 | 10am - 1pm
- Where: Water Resources Education Center, 4600 SE Columbia Way, Vancouver, WA
