49th Legislative District WA Democrats FIGHTING TO KEEP OUR DISTRICT BLUE! The Fighting Blue Forty-ninth is the Democratic redoubt that anchors the southwest corner of Washington.

We are bounded on the south and west by the Columbia River, on the east by Interstate 205 and on the north by a ragged line from the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge to 99th Street then back north to the confluence of Interstate 5 and Interstate 205. The shape of the district has not changed much in the new maps drawn by the state Redistricting Commission and endorsed by the Legislature. To add the 3,000 voters needed to balance the size of the other districts in the county, the 49th picks up all or parts of four precincts north of 99th Street and west of Hazel Dell Avenue including the neighborhood around Columbia River High School. Three new precincts were created in neighborhoods where population growth was particularly rapid over the past decade. OFFICERS:

Make a plan, bring friends. Canvass for Democrats. Please distribute our comprehensive voters guide. You may pick the voter guides up from either the coordinated campaign or the county party office. The important thing is to get the voter guides in the hands of voters and that everyone votes.

Friends — October 17 is a nationwide NO KINGS day of action ahead of the midterms. There are events taking place all over the country to promote early voting and make sure every eligible voter has a plan, knows their options, and is ready to make their voice count. I urge you to head to https://www.nokings.org/ to find an event near you.

We are the only people who will rescue us from this nightmare. We are the leaders we’ve been waiting for. These next few weeks are crucial.

The comprehensive voter guide is available at both the County Party and the Coordinated Campaign offices. If your a PCO please distribute them in your precinct. Anyone who is interested in canvassing you are encouraged to do so. This is an important midterm election and we all have work to do.

Thank you everyone who attended the October meeting. Representative Monica Stonier shared with us her work as the Democratic House Caucus Leader. Close to three thousand of the 49th LD Democrats voting guides were distributed to PCOs and volunteers who will be heading out to put them into the hands of voters.

Thank you everyone who attended our monthly meeting. Washington State Chair Shasti Conrad zoomed in and spoke to the body about getting involved in the upcoming election. Emma Montague from the Coordinated Campaign office reminded everyone to volunteer for canvassing. Chair Jess Durfee reminded everyone that there are many areas not covered by PCOs and that our voter guides are being printed and will be ready to distribute at the October meeting.
