Did you know paper coffee cups are NOT recyclable? They are lined with plastic to prevent liquids from leaking out of the paper cup.

Disposable paper cups should be tossed in the trash – the best reason to always bring reusable mugs! Check local coffee shops for discounts for bringing your own cups 💚

Electronic waste (e-waste) is anything with a battery or plug, like old phones, appliances, computers, batteries, even refrigerators. It’s also the world’s fastest growing waste stream - 62 million tons of e-waste were discarded in 2022!📱🖥️⌨️

With all that e-waste comes hazardous chemicals, like lead and mercury, that require special disposal (never toss e-waste in the trash!)

If not properly disposed, these chemicals leak into the environment and pose serious harm to our soil, water, wildlife, and us.

But by recycling, we recover valuable minerals and materials to build new electronics instead of mining for new resources – keeping our waste in a circular system ♻️

City of Ventura residents can safely drop off e-waste for FREE at:

Gold Coast Recycling anytime during open hours
