What's one of the best part of our jobs here in the Clerk-Recorder's office? When you have an opportunity to marry a happy couple! Today Michelle Ascencion was able to act in her role as the County Commissioner of Civil Marriages and marry Steven and Itzel in front of their family and friends. Since Michelle has known Steven as a young boy since the early days of her public service career at Port Hueneme, it was extra special for everyone involved.

Clerk-Recorder Michelle Ascencion met the League of Women Voters of Ventura County and helped load up the carts as the League readied their pizza, salad and homemade cookie lunch for the election workers. They have provided a delicious lunch for workers every election and everyone is so grateful since it's hard to find time to get away for lunch. Thank you League of Women Voters - you are a wonderful support and resource for anyone interested in, or part of Ventura Elections.

All the Election Day vote by mail ballots are being signature verified at least twice - first by machines (like the check signature authorizer at banks) and then by our excellent team of community and staff election workers. Then scanned once accepted (and you get your BallotTrax message if you're signed up). Then to the openers, the flatteners and then to be tabulated. Everyone is working hard (after already working hard for weeks without a break! thank you amazing team) for election results update on Tuesday. Read more about the canvass period of elections on the most recent press release at vote.venturacounty.gov.
Thank you for voting, Ventura County!
