This morning's Books Bonanza was about architecture. Our volunteers started by reading Iggy Peck Architect to the children and then it was time to start creating their own designs. Everyone had a lot of fun letting the creativity flow. And the kids were excited to pick out a new book to add to their own collection at home.
Join us this Saturday, November 21 from 9:00am-12:00pm for our end of the year Books Bonanza Reading Club at the Villa Chavez Apartments, 5559 Salvador St., Oxnard, 93033. Our program consists of reading to and interacting with elementary and junior high school students from the community. After reading a book and having engaging discussions about the subject, we will be helping the children do an arts and crafts project. Lastly, the children will each be given a book of their own to help build their personal library.

Spirit Awards – 2015!
This year United Way of Ventura County awarded Matthew Shrope and Brenda Dearborn from Young Leaders Society for their constant support and leadership of Books Bonanza. Thank you Matt and Brenda, you really deserve it!

Last Saturday’s Books Bonanza - endless fun for the kids at Villa Cesar Chavez in Oxnard. Reading, Arts and Crafts, Yoga and Prize Books. Showing that learning during the summer can be fun!!! Big thanks to the volunteers that came and created such a good time for the kids!

At the end of this month we are beginning our Summer Reading Program! We will have reading sessions on June 26th, July 24th and August 28th in Santa Paula,Ca and Piru,Ca. Join us, volunteer and read aloud to children. Your kind service will advocate the value of reading.
