Our neighbors are being torn from our community, and it’s time to step off the sidelines. Dear Friends, our hearts are in the right place. It pains us to watch community members disappear from our midst. It should not take years of paperwork to build the homes people need. California just passed a law that removes a major barrier, making it faster to build housing where people already live and work. It protects the environment and helps communities grow. This could mean more homes, built sooner.
“Less red tape. More homes.”

At a press conference in Ventura today, Central Coast organizations united to respond to recent immigration raids in local farm fields. It was a powerful show of solidarity, as community leaders ranging from immigrant rights and social justice groups to the Ventura County Farm Bureau stood side by side. Their unity demonstrated that from big cities to small farming towns, our entire community stands together against fear and injustice, defending the safety and dignity of all our neighbors, no matter their skin color or where they’re from.
In the face of fear, we choose to stand with compassion and hope. As one community, we turn pain into strength and fear into courage. Our struggles are interconnected, and so is our power when we unite.
Today, we stand with our farmworkers and immigrant neighbors, fighting for their dignity, safety, and the promise of a better tomorrow. Together, we are creating a future where everyone is treated with respect and no one stands alone.
