🚴‍♀️ Congratulations to our Bike Month Giveaway winner, Patty!

Patty, a retired educator and avid cyclist, loves exploring Ventura by bike with her family. After entering our Bike Month Giveaway, she was selected as the lucky winner of a brand-new Marlin 4 Trek bike, generously donated by our local Trek store.

We're thrilled to help Patty continue enjoying the paths, trails, and scenic rides that make Ventura such a great place to bike. Congratulations, Patty! We can't wait to see you out on the road and trail!

💧🚒 Preparedness through partnership. 💪🏻

Earlier this month, Ventura Water welcomed the Ventura Fire Department to the Avenue Water Treatment Plant for a joint emergency response training exercise. The hands-on training gave firefighters an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the facility, critical infrastructure, and emergency response procedures.

Working together helps ensure a coordinated response during emergencies and strengthens our ability to continue providing essential services to the community.

Thank you to the Ventura Fire Department for their partnership and commitment to keeping Ventura safe. ✨

Sometimes the person who saves your life isn’t a firefighter or paramedic. Sometimes it’s your spouse. Your friend. A complete stranger. ❤️

In Episode 19 of the Ventura Voices podcast, Ventura resident Liz Montoya shares the moment she realized her husband David was in cardiac arrest and the decision-making that helped keep him alive before first responders arrived.

You’ll also hear from Ventura Fire Department EMS Program Administrator Heather Ellis about why those first few minutes matter so much, how hands-only CPR can double or even triple survival chances, and why people should never be afraid to step in and help.

This episode could genuinely help save a life someday.

As we wrap up Bike Month 2026, we’re excited to celebrate a major milestone: more than 1 million bike rides logged since 2018 through the Eco-Counters embedded on Ventura streets. 🚲

That means over one million real rides counted at 15 locations across the city — proof that Ventura is becoming a more connected, bikeable community every year. Including:

• 175 miles of bike infrastructure
• 315 average daily riders on Telegraph Road
• 67 raffle entries for our 2026 bike giveaway
• 1,029,040 total rides logged since 2018

Check out the Bike Count Dashboard at: https://bit.ly/3RTecOV

And the celebration isn’t over yet — our raffle prize winner will be announced next Friday, June 5! 🎉There's still time to join!

Thank you to everyone who showed up on two wheels (or two feet) this May, and a huge thank-you to our local bike shops for partnering with us along the way.
