**Vermillion Area Community Foundation Fully Funds Food Pantry After County Budget Cut**
The Clay County Commission voted 3-2 to eliminate its $5,000 in annual support of the Food Pantry from the 2027 county budget. The Vermillion Area Community Foundation (VACF) will fully fund that $5,000, using grant funds from the Clayton & Odessa Lang Ofstad Foundation.
"Many Native American families rely on the Food Pantry, and this is exactly what the Ofstad Foundation funds are meant for," said Michelle Maloney, VACF Board President. "We are grateful for the community support and the support of the Ofstad Foundation that makes gifts like this possible in a time of need.”
The Ofstad Foundation grant supports VACF's work serving Native students and families across the Vermillion area.
