October is National Fire Prevention Month, so Vermontville & Nashville Fire Departments visited Maplewood this week to discuss safety tips with our students & demonstrate some of their equipment. Now is a good time to check the smoke detectors in your home to make sure they are working properly and review a safety plan with your family in case of an emergency. We want to thank our local departments for sharing their skills and knowledge with us and for keeping our communities safe!

Keep Kids Safe
Michigan’s secure fi***rm storage law requires fi***rms to be unloaded and locked or stored in a locked container if minors are likely to be present, to prevent unauthorized access and reduce unintentional injuries. In support of our commitment to safety, we are legally required to distribute the Michigan Department of Education’s Safe Storage Notice to all parents or legal guardians of enrolled students each year. Most incidents happen when kids find unsecured guns.

Secure storage saves lives. Gun locks are available at all buildings for free.

Odyssey of the Mind sign-ups are coming!
If you are interested in having your K - 8th grade student join Odyssey of the Mind, you can attend one of the registration nights at Fuller.
These will be held near Fuller's main entrance on September 29th from 3:45PM -5PM and September 30th from 5PM - 6PM.
