Daisy - VHPD Wellness Dog

🐾🚨 ATTENTION, HUMANS! THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT POLICE DOG ANNOUNCEMENT. 🚨🐾
Your favorite VHPD wellness dog has been assigned a VERY serious mission:
🍔 EAT AT LAZY DOG NEXT WEEK! 🍔

From October 12–15, Lazy Dog in Vernon Hills is donating 15% of your bill to our VHPD FOP

📍 Lazy Dog — 1115 N. Milwaukee Ave.
📅 October 12–15 — ALL DAY
🔑 Code: 02VH

And yes, I personally investigated this fundraiser.
My findings:
✅ Food is good.
✅ Supporting the police is good.
✅ I am available for taste-testing duties. 👀🐶

Please share this flyer with your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, and anyone else who enjoys food and supporting a good cause.

I’ll be doing my part by supervising from a safe distance… preferably near the table where the appetizers are. 😂🐾

Eat. Drink. Support the FOP.

And remember… I accept donations in the form of chicken. 🐶❤️

🚒🐾 Daisy’s Firehouse Adventure! 🐾🚒

Today I went to the Countryside Fire Department Open House and WOW… firefighters really know how to throw a party! 🥞🚒🔥

I started with a pancake breakfast (I was told those pancakes were for humans… RUDE 😒), watched an AWESOME fire demonstration, and got to tour the big fire trucks! 🚒👀

I even got to hang out with some of my first responder friends! ❤️ It was a tail-wagging good time, and I’m already looking forward to my next firehouse visit!

10/10 would recommend.
5/10 on the pancake sharing. 😂🐶

🐾💙 Last night I got to hang out with the Animal Welfare Club at Vernon Hills High School! 🐶

We talked about animals, kindness, and how we can all help make a difference in the lives of our furry friends. I made lots of new friends, collected plenty of pets, and learned about all the wonderful things the club does. I can't wait to collaborate with them some more!

I’m loving my time at VHHS—and being an official Cougar has some serious perks! 🐾🧡💙

Thanks for having me, Animal Welfare Club! I can’t wait to come back! 🐶💕

📚🐾 Yesterday I went to Townline Elementary for one of my FAVORITE activities… being read to! ❤️

The kids earned Eagle Bucks and decided to spend them on some special reading time with ME! 🦅📖🐶

I got to listen to so many great stories, and I have to say… these kids are pretty pawsome readers! I mostly just sat there, listened, and tried VERY hard not to eat the books. 😂

Thank you, Townline, for letting me be part of your Eagle Bucks fun! I think I got the better end of this deal. 🐾💙

🐾📚 What a PAW-some day at Young Learners Kindergarten! 💛

I got to join the kids for a special Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library reading, and of course, I was ALL ears! 📖🐶

After story time, I made my way around the classrooms and made SO many new friends. There were lots of smiles, belly rubs, and plenty of tail wags! 🐾💕

Thank you, Young Learners, for letting me spend the day with you! I’ll be back for more stories, snuggles, and friendships soon! 🐶📚💛

🐾👮‍♀️ Today I got some very special visitors! The kids from Lakeview Preschool came to the PD for a station tour and made sure to stop by and see me! 🐶💙

I showed them that the police department has more than just officers and patrol cars… it has a very important wellness dog, too! 😉🐾

Thanks for stopping by, Lakeview! I loved all the pets, smiles, and attention! 💙🐕

🎣🐾 I Came. I Saw. I Almost Caught a Fish! 🇺🇸

I had a PAW-some time at the Fox Lake American Legion Fishing Derby, spending the day with some amazing military veterans! 🎣🚤🍔

There was fishing, boat rides, games, burgers, and lots of smiles. My very important duties included providing emotional support, supervising the fishing, and making sure nobody dropped a burger. 😂🐶

The Fox Lake American Legion volunteers help at our Vernon Hills Police Department veterans fishing derby, so we were happy to return the favor at theirs! 🤝🇺🇸

Thanks for having me! I may not have caught a fish, but I definitely caught some new friends—and maybe a burger crumb or two. 😉🐾

🐾🎓 BIG DAY! 🎓🐾

Today I officially got my Vernon Hills High School ID, which means I am now officially a visiting VHHS Cougar! 🐾💙💛

I’m still trying to figure out if this means I have to take finals, do homework, or worry about being late to first period. 🤔 Thankfully, I hear my biggest responsibility is spreading smiles, getting pets, and making new friends… which I think I can handle! 🐶❤️

The best part? I’ll be back at VHHS tomorrow for another visit during a few lunch periods! I can’t wait to meet more students, make some new friends, and see if anyone is willing to share their lunch. Just kidding… mostly. 👀🍕😂

Go Cougars! See you tomorrow! 💙💛🐾

I have to give a BIG shoutout to my buddy Marshall! 🐾💙

Marshall is a fellow Lab who trains with me, and he does some pretty amazing work with the 100 Club. Along with his handler, Meg, Marshall helps support the families of fallen officers and provides mental health and wellness support to first responders. 💙🖤

Marshall and Meg were recently featured on WGN News’ First Responder of the Month segment, and I couldn’t be more proud of my buddy! 🎥🐶

And guess what! They showed a picture of all of us dogs training together at TOPS...and I was in it! ⭐️ I guess you could say I’m officially a TV star now. 😎📺

Congratulations, Marshall and Meg! Keep doing amazing things and making all of us working dogs proud! 🐾💙

Every month here on Spotlight Chicago we’re honoring a First Responder who has gone above and beyond the call of duty. The first responder gets a spotlight here on the show and a one-thousand-dollar donation in their name to the “100 Club of Illinois” by the Mancini Law Group. This August our ...
