🎀 2026 VERNON PD PINK PATCH PROJECT

The Vernon Police Department is proud to announce that our 2026 Pink Patch Project shirts and patches are now available!

This year’s design is about more than breast cancer awareness, it celebrates the history, identity, and spirit of the City of Vernon.

⚾️ Honoring the Vernon Tigers

This year’s design pays tribute to the historic Vernon Tigers, Vernon’s professional baseball team that competed in the Pacific Coast League beginning in 1909. The Tigers went on to win Pacific Coast League championships in 1919 and 1920, becoming an important part of Southern California’s early professional sports history.

We wanted to bring a piece of that history back to life and create a Pink Patch design that is uniquely Vernon.

🐯 “Taking a Bite Out of Cancer”

This year’s slogan adds a little public safety nostalgia to the campaign, playing off the iconic “Take a Bite Out of Crime” message made famous by McGruff the Crime Dog.

The design features the Vernon water tower, Maier Park, a Vernon Tigers baseball theme, a tiger wearing a Vernon baseball cap, and the iconic Pink Patch ribbon.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this year’s design to life. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it!

𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 🎀

This year’s Pink Patch Project design is more than just a shirt. It’s a celebration of Vernon’s history, identity, and community.

This year, we are paying tribute to the Vernon Tigers, Vernon’s historic professional baseball team from the early 1900s and one of the earliest pro baseball teams in the Los Angeles area.

The design also features a nod to a familiar public safety icon with our campaign slogan “Taking a Bite Out of Cancer,” which is inspired by McGruff the crime dog’s iconic line of “Taking a Bite Out of Crime.”

Every detail was chosen to represent where we come from, who we are, and the community we proudly serve.

Shirts will be available for purchase this Saturday during the Pink Patch 5K run at Frank G. Bonelli Park (120 E Via Verde Dr, San Dimas) between 0800-1100 hours.

More details to come on alternate forms of payment. Please join us in the fight for a great cause!
