Lake Street School

Lake Street School is participating in the third annual Bryan Flint Memorial Socktober Collection. This project collects NEW socks and undergarments of any size to be distributed at local shelters, clothing banks, and outreach programs. Each night in the US almost 600,000 people live on the streets. These items are needed by many and often not donated.

Therefore, we at LSS are looking for families to donate NEW socks and undergarments of any size! We will be collecting these items ALL of October. A large donation box will be in the hallway by the main office.

Last week our Kindergarten classes took a fun-filled fall field trip to Foster Family Farms. They enjoyed a hayride, explored a corn maze, played on playgrounds, saw farm animals, and jumped into the corn kernel pit! Everyone even got to take home their own pumpkin and decorate them back at school. The weather was beautiful and so many wonderful memories were made. Thank you to all the parent chaperones for joining and helping make the day so special!

Yesterday, First and Second Graders got to visit with the Vernon fire department! They got the opportunity to sit and learn about fire safety, explore a firefighter in all of their protective equipment, and visit the fire truck! They learned a lot and had a fun time doing it! Thank you Vernon Fire Department for visiting us!
