We’ve received reports of scam phone calls and text messages that are targeting EBT cardholders across Virginia. ⚠️

They may claim:
- There is suspicious activity on your account.
- An EBT card transaction was declined.
- You need to click a link or call a number to speak with a representative.

These messages and calls are fake! VDSS will not call or text you about specific EBT card purchases. Do not reply to these texts, click any links, or call any numbers associated with them.

If you have responded to these messages, immediately call the official EBT customer service phone number (1-866-281-2448) or reach out to your local department of social services (www.dss.virginia.gov/localagency).

We also strongly encourage customers to use ConnectEBT to keep your card locked when not in use. Learn more about avoiding EBT scams and using ConnectEBT at dss.virginia.gov/EBTScam. 🔒

Shenandoah Valley Social Services will accept Fuel Assistance Applications from October 13, 2026 - November 13, 2026. Fuel Assistance helps with home heating costs during the months of January- April. Crisis assistance for security deposits, repairs and replacement of heating equipment runs from November 2, 2026 -March 15, 2026. Crisis assistance for heating disconnections or low fuel will begin on January 4, 2026, and end on March 15, 2026. Please apply online at https://commonhelp.virginia.gov, or by calling the Enterprise Customer Service Center at (855) 636-4370. You can also submit paper applications at 68 Dick Huff Lane in Verona, VA or 1200 Shenandoah Ave in Waynesboro, VA. For any additional questions please call (540) 245-5890.

𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟵 - 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟯: work in front of Social Services expands to include the roadway in front of the Government Center.
𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟲-𝟭𝟬: work will include the rail road crossing.
This project will add an extra travel lane to the Government Center entrance.
