It's that time of year again! Our annual Shop with a Cop campaign has started! You can purchase tickets directly from the police department or any officer.

The purpose of the Shop with a Cop event is to help build a lasting positive relationship between underprivileged children and law enforcement by giving them a positive experience with us. Local children are selected each year during the end-of-the-year Christmas season to shop at one of the local area stores to purchase gifts for themselves and their immediate family members. A police officer will es**rt each child around the store and assist in selecting appropriate gifts. While shopping, the children can get to know the officer.

Raffle tickets are on sale now! We have 18 prizes this year, and only 1,000 tickets will be sold. You can't beat those odds! If interested in purchasing tickets or making a monetary donation, please come by the Versailles Police Department or Versailles City Hall. You can also use our Venmo account (-ShopwithaCop) to purchase tickets or make donations. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us at 573-539-2580 or email us at [email protected].

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ 25 YEARS LATER โ€” WE WILL NEVER FORGET ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Twenty-five years ago today, America awoke to a beautiful September morning that would soon become one of the darkest days in our nationโ€™s history.

On September 11, 2001, 2,977 innocent lives were taken in acts of unimaginable evil. Among those lost were 343 firefighters, 72 law enforcement officers, and 8 emergency medical personnel who answered the call when their fellow Americans needed them most.

While thousands were desperately trying to escape the danger, our fellow first responders were running toward it.

They climbed stairwells others were fleeing. They entered buildings knowing the tremendous danger before them. They carried the injured, comforted the frightened, and continued forwardโ€”not knowing if they would ever return home to their own families.

For so many, they did not.

Today, the Versailles Police Department remembers those brothers and sisters who made the ultimate sacrifice. We remember their courage, their devotion to duty, and the extraordinary selflessness they displayed in their final moments.

But we also remember every life lost that September morningโ€”the mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters, friends and coworkers whose families have carried their memories for the past 25 years.

We remember those who survived. We remember those who responded in the days and months that followed. And we remember the countless first responders whose service at Ground Zero would ultimately take a tremendous toll on their health and their lives.

A quarter of a century has passed. A generation has grown up knowing September 11 only through photographs, videos, stories, and history books.

It is our responsibility to make sure they understand why we promised to never forget.

We will remember the lives they livedโ€”not simply the way they died.

We will remember their courage.

We will remember their sacrifice.

And we will remain forever grateful.

โ€œGreater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.โ€ โ€” John 15:13

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ September 11, 2001 โ€” September 11, 2026 ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

25 years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Deliveries have been made! Thank you again to the amazing teachers at Morgan County R-II School District for all that you do.

Also, thank you so much to those who made physical donations, and a special thank you to those who made monetary donations. B&B Drive-In, Chris & Tina Clark, City Prosecutor John Slayton, and retired superintendant Marc Spunaugle- the back of the patrol car would not have been filled without your generous donations.

Today's the day! Wishing everyone a safe and successful school year!

๐Ÿš”๐ŸŽ FILL THE PATROL CAR ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿš”
Help Us Keep Our Morgan County R-II Teachers Fueled!

The Versailles Police Auxiliary is proud to kick off our first annual "Fill the Patrol Car" community donation drive to help stock teacher lounges throughout the Morgan County R-II School District.

Our teachers spend countless hours investing in our children, often putting the needs of their students ahead of their own. A quick snack or drink during a busy school day can make a big difference, and with your help, we can make sure they have those little pick-me-ups available throughout the beginning of the new school year.

We're collecting non-perishable snacks and drinks including:
๐Ÿฟ Chips & Popcorn
๐Ÿฅจ Pretzels & Crackers
๐Ÿฅœ Trail Mix & Nuts
๐Ÿช Cookies & Granola Bars
๐Ÿฅค Bottled Water, Soda & Sports Drinks
๐Ÿงƒ Drink Mix Packets
โ€ฆand many other individually packaged snacks!

๐Ÿ“… Donation Dates: August 10thโ€“20th

๐Ÿ“ Drop-Off Locations:
Versailles Police Department or Versailles City Hall
Mondayโ€“Friday | 8:00 AM โ€“ 4:00 PM

๐Ÿš” Need a pickup or have questions?
Call Officer Katie Pryor at 573-539-2580.

Every donationโ€”big or smallโ€”will help show our appreciation for the incredible educators who make a difference in the lives of our children every single day.

I have included our QR code for monetary donations if you are not able to make a drop off donation. Once the snack drive is over we will take those funds and make a Sam's order to distribute evenly between the schools.

Please help us spread the word by liking, sharing, and inviting others to participate. Together, our community can show our teachers just how much they are appreciated.

๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค Thank you for supporting our teachers and our community! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›
