The Official page of the Vestal Fire Department, Vestal, New York. Meeting the needs of our citizens since 1921.

The Vestal Fire Department is a 100% volunteer organization. As a fire department, we are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. As your fire department, we are ready to assist you, our community and our neighboring communities. As a local fire department, we have to be good stewards of the funds with which we receive. While we are allocated a yearly budget from the Town of Vestal; we have to offset the financial burdens of operations through various fundraisers. Your donations will benefit the Vestal Fire Department by ensuring that our members are capable of maintaining the buildings, equipment and/or purchasing equipment necessary to operate as an organization. "Vestal is a town of about 32,000 people located in upstate New York, 80 miles south of Syracuse, on the New York / Pennsylvania border. The Vestal Fire Protection District encompasses all of the land within the boundaries of the Town of Vestal, approximately 53 square miles. The department operates under the direction of the Town Board, which makes up the Board of Fire Commissioners. The department is lead by a Chief and four Assistant Chiefs who, along with the Captains and 1st Lieutenants from each of the department's four stations, make up the Fire Advisory Board . The Fire Advisory Board is responsible for the day to day operation of the 125 person department." Reference:

Recently, our members conducted a training on our midi pumpers and our firefighting foam. 🔥

It’s not always in the fire service we use water, we may use firefighting foam in some instances.

This past weekend, members from the Vestal Fire Department Company 1 participated in this wonderful training opportunity.
Assistant Foreman Eaton, Firefighter Kelley, and Firefighter Mazzeo learned about Rapid intervention teams (RIT) and how important they are on the fire ground during firefighting operations.
Thank you to the West Corners Fire Department for hosting this training, and for instructors from Task Force 1 for coming to Broome County to teach this class.
