Domestic violence survivors and victims YOU ARE NOT ALONE. The lights represent the shine in your eyes, the shine of a new life where you are in control and no one else. The sirens represent your voice, loud and clear, a voice that says I chose to break the cycle and not be a victim but a survivor. It is a shame we have to advocate for so many but it is an honor to do so.

Remember today from 5 to 7 pm come line Highway 64 from Roland to Gore. These survivors and victims need to know they are not alone and have the support of the community. This is a great way to show you care.

Through generous donations Vian Police Department is proud to present what we believe is the first ever in Sequoyah County SAFE (Stand Alone Family Exchange). As a member of the Domestic Violence and child abuse team this idea came after working several cases where crimes were committed during child custody exchanges between estranged family members. This area is monitored by CCTV. This will not stop domestic violence however it will be a great deterrent and evidence collection tool for all parties involved, both the victim and the accused. We encourage child custody exchanges to utilize this service. In the event of an incident we will handle the reporting and submitting to the DA. This spot is also useful for internet purchase exchange meetings. The exchange of money and products can also be volatile, this area will capture all audio and video.
A special THANK YOU TO Simon’s Home Center for donating all the paint and supplies to complete this goal, thank you to A-OK printing for the amazing signage as well.

THURSDAY OCTOBER 1, 2026 5 to 7pm
drive out domestic violence:

COME LINE HWY 64 to support all the men and women who work so hard to combat this horrible crime:

Each year in October the Sequoyah County CCR/SART in cooperation with local law enforcement, drive in a procession from Roland Police Department to Gore Police Department on HWY 64, running lights and sirens, to raise awareness of Domestic Violence. This is a great way for your department to make a public show of support for victims and survivors of domestic violence! This event is a powerful, visually impactful, public display that law enforcement in Sequoyah County takes domestic violence seriously and the event is always fun to participate in.
