Building Relationships, One Story at a Time!

Vicksburg Police Chief Larry Burns and Deputy Chief Tommy Curtis traded in their badges for books as they spent time reading to students at South Park Elementary School! 📖👮🏽‍♂️

In partnership with United Way, this special opportunity allowed our leadership to connect with young minds, encourage a love for reading, and remind students that our officers are more than protectors; we're also mentors, supporters, and friends.

The visit reflected the Vicksburg Police Department's commitment to building a safer, stronger community by investing in our children and creating positive relationships beyond the badge.

A special thank you to United Way and South Park Elementary School for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful experience!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR OFFICERS!

The Vicksburg Police Department would like to congratulate Lt. Anthony Lane, Sgt. Latridia Chambers, and Officer Steven Reagan on successfully completing a week-long Crisis Intervention Training (CIT)!

This important training, held in partnership with River Ridge Behavioral Health and United Way of West Central Mississippi, brought together law enforcement officers from agencies across Central Mississippi to strengthen their skills in recognizing, responding to, and de-escalating crisis situations, particularly those involving individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

Because serving our community goes beyond enforcing the law. It's also about understanding people, showing compassion, and knowing how to respond when someone needs help the most.

We are proud of these officers for their commitment to continued education, professional growth, and providing Vicksburg citizens with the highest level of service.

A special thank you to River Ridge Behavioral Health, United Way, and everyone who helped make this valuable training possible!

Help us congratulate these officers on a job well done!
