⚠️Temporary Payment System Outage ⚠️

Attention REC members and Grizzly Broadband customers. Due to an issue with our software vendor, our payment system is temporarily unavailable. This impacts payments made through SmartHub, online, credit card payments in person at our office, and through our secure payment phone line. Our annual TRUCK OR TREAT is coming Friday, October 30, and we're gearing up for a frightfully good time!

Something exciting arrived at our Woodside Substation today!

A new battery energy storage system was delivered marking a major milestone in a project designed to strengthen electric reliability and resilience for our members.

Through a partnership with PNGC Power and a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, this innovative project will help us explore new ways to keep the power flowing in our communities.

While there's still work to be done before the battery becomes operational, today's delivery was a big milestone worth celebrating!
We're excited to share this progress with you and look forward to showing you more as the project moves ahead.

The REC Granstdale Circuit 1 is currently down with 750 members out of power, from Tammany Lane, south to Skalkaho. Crews will work to get the power restored as quickly as possible. Thank you.

Update 2:30 pm - There are still a few smaller outages the crews are working their way to. Most outages have been restored but there are still a few around Sula area. Crews are still out and working on getting the power back up. Thanks!

We are aware of outages of all members south of Conner along Hwy 93 S including the East Fork Rd. We have had multiple trees and branches go through the line from this heavy, wet snow. Crews are working as fast and as safely as possible to get the power restored. Our current estimate for power restoral is mid-afternoon. Hang in there and we'll get the power back on as soon as we can!

After a week of beautiful, warm weather, Mother Nature is reminding us that winter isn't far away. Drastic temperature changes are headed our way this weekend!

Before the colder temperatures arrive, take a few minutes to:
🔹 Check your heating system and replace dirty filters.
🔹 Disconnect garden hoses.
🔹 Seal up those chilly drafts around windows and doors.
🔹 Make sure your emergency supplies are stocked.
🔹 Practice safe space heater use.

And remember, as temperatures drop, your heating system may work harder, which can mean increased electricity use.

Today, we’re giving you permission to be a little lazy. 😉⚡

National Energy Efficiency Day is a great reminder that sometimes doing LESS really is better!

💡 Turn off the lights you don’t need.
🧺 Wait until you have a full load of laundry to wash.
🍽️ Fill up that dishwasher before running it.
🌡️ Let your thermostat do the work.
⚡ When you can, avoid heavy electricity use during REC’s peak demand hours of 7–9 a.m. and 6–8 p.m.

Small changes + thousands of REC members = one powerful difference.
