🔥🚒 Exploring Careers in Fire & EMS! 🚑🔥

A big THANK YOU to Ms. Harris and her Career Investigations class for inviting Victoria Fire & Rescue to come speak with the students about the many career opportunities available in Fire and EMS!

The students got the chance to learn about what it takes to work in emergency services, practice some hands-on skills, learn about CPR, and get an up-close look at both our Engine and Medic unit.

We always enjoy getting the opportunity to spend time with students, answer their questions, and hopefully inspire some future firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics! ❤️🚒🚑

Thank you again, Ms. Harris, for having us — we had a great time!

🚒🔥 Little learners, BIG safety lessons! 🔥🚒

Victoria Fire & Rescue had a wonderful time visiting Victoria Elementary School today for Fire Prevention Week! We talked with students in Pre-K through 1st grade about fire safety and what to do in a fire emergency. 🧑‍🚒

The fun didn’t stop there—students got to tour the fire truck and take home some goodies to help keep the learning going! 🎁🚒

Thank you to the teachers and staff for welcoming us and to our little learners for spending part of their day with us. We loved helping them learn how to stay safe! ❤️

🏡 Families, keep the conversation going tonight: talk about your escape plan and choose an outside meeting place. Remember: GET OUTSIDE and STAY OUTSIDE!

Last night, members had the opportunity to meet a citizen involved in a recent incident. On August 25th, Victoria Fire and Rescue responded to a person trapped by a tractor. Members worked to locate, stabilize, quickly extricate and turn the patient over to air medical transport. Our membership was very thankful to meet the citizen involved in the incident and discuss the success story. Pictured below are members who were involved in the incident that were available to attend yesterday.

Victoria Fire and Rescue receives Dominion Energy Grant.

Dominion Energy partners with the Virginia State Firefighters Association to provide grants to volunteer fire departments throughout the state of Virginia. Victoria Fire and Rescue applied and was fortunate to be 1 of 48 volunteer departments in the state to receive the grant. This afternoon, the department was presented the check and was provided a catered meal. The funds received from the grant were used to purchase the saws pictured below. When purchasing the saws, Kenbridge Supply (Ace Hardware) graciously donated the 9” battery powered cut-off saw pictured. Victoria Fire and Rescue is very thankful for the support from both of these organizations.
