🌎 𝐀𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐒𝐋 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 📚

Education truly has the power to transform lives—and Henan “Hannah” Wang is a beautiful example of that transformation. ❤️

Hannah immigrated to the United States from China in 2015. She earned a bachelor’s degree in China and another in the United States, then she worked as a marketing assistant before spending several years as a stay-at-home mom.

When Hannah was ready to re-enter the workforce, she realized that her years at home, with limited opportunities to communicate with other adults, had significantly impacted her confidence in speaking English. So in 2023, Hannah turned to VC Adult Education and enrolled in our 𝐄𝐒𝐋 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬.

Hannah credits those classes with helping build her confidence—and today, she is giving back to the very program that helped her find her voice again. 👏🏼

Hannah is now a member of our Adult Education team, teaching ESL, reading and writing, and serving as our resource lab instructor for learners in all subject areas.

From student to teacher, Hannah’s journey is a powerful reminder that education can do more than build skills—it can 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬. ✨

How long does it take to earn your GED? For some of our recent graduates, it took 2 months. For others, it took 11 years. And every single one of those journeys is worth celebrating. ❤️

There is no perfect timeline. Life happens. Plans change. Sometimes you have to stop. Sometimes you have to start over—maybe more than once.

Meet Milton Stolis, Victoria College Adult Education’s resident “Math Wiz”!

Mr. Milton has been encouraging and supporting adult learners as an instructor with VC Adult Education since 2017! 👏🏼

Math is often the most challenging subject for students to pass on the GED exam, which is why we are especially thankful to have Milton’s expertise, patience, and dedication on our team!

Thank you, Milton, for helping our learners conquer their math fears and, oftentimes, finally pass that last pesky test! 🎉

Meet Warren J., a SAIL student who worked hard to earn Level 1 certifications in both HVAC and Electrical through programs offered at Victoria College.

The SAIL Program provides eligible students with academic preparation and tuition assistance to help them reach their educational and career goals.
