💨 We are under a Wind Advisory!

Good morning, Victoria County!

Strong winds are expected across the county today, and while we are NOT currently under a burn ban, conditions are not favorable for outdoor burning.

If you're planning to burn brush, debris, or anything outdoors, we strongly encourage you to postpone burning until after the weekend or until weather conditions improve.

🔥 Remember, it only takes one unexpected gust of wind for a controlled burn to quickly become an uncontrolled fire.

We’ll continue to provide updates on our website, but we wanted to remind everyone to use extra caution today.

🤝 A little patience goes a long way in keeping our community safe! Thank you for doing your part to protect your neighbors, property, and our first responders.

Happy Columbus Day!!

As Fire Prevention Week comes to a close, we hope you've picked up some valuable fire safety tips to help keep your family and home safe!

Today, we had the pleasure of visiting Bloomington Elementary School, where the Bloomington Volunteer Fire Department Inc., Placedo Volunteer Fire Department, and Texas A&M Forest Service came together for a fun and educational fire prevention event!

👏 A big THANK YOU to these departments for taking the time to educate our young students and for their continued dedication to fire safety in our community. Your efforts make a difference!

📸 We've shared a few pictures from today's event. We hope you enjoy them!

🔋📱 Hey, your phone called… it says it's FULL! 😂

It's Fire Prevention Week, and here's a simple reminder that can make a big difference!

🔌 Once your phone reaches 100%, unplug it! This small habit reduces unnecessary charging and potential fire risks.

🔥 Small action. Big impact.

🔥📱 If your phone feels like it could fry an egg… that’s not a feature. 😅

Phones, tablets, power banks, and other rechargeable devices shouldn’t get excessively hot while charging or in use. If a device feels unusually hot, starts swelling, smells strange, makes odd noises, or looks damaged — stop using it and unplug it if it’s safe to do so.

And please… don’t put it in the freezer.
😂 We know somebody was thinking it.

During Fire Prevention Week, remember: lithium-ion battery warning signs are your device’s way of saying, “Hey… we’ve got a problem here.”

🔥 Feels hot? Stop using it.
Small action. Big impact.
