The Missouri Forage and Grassland Council (MoFGC) promotes the efficient use of forages through a va Forages are vitally important to Missouri.

The Missouri Forage and Grassland Council / Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative is an organization consisting of farmers, ranchers, educators, scientists, conservationists, industries, and government agencies with a common interest in forages. MoFGC / GLCI promotes the efficient use of forages through a variety of research, education and service programs. more than half of the land area in the state is in forages. Forages make up two-thirds or more of the feed for livestock. Missouri forages provide food and shelter for wildlife, greatly reduces soil erosion, and protect water quality.

The Missouri Forage & Grassland Council is happy to announce the appointment of its first Executive Director, Micheal Clements.

Micheal is an agricultural communications and nonprofit leadership specialist with 15 years of experience spanning broadcasting, nonprofit management, and connecting producers with the information, resources, and relationships that strengthen agriculture.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Northwest Missouri State University and a master’s certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Missouri.

Micheal most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting. He lives in Platte City with his family and looks forward to working with MFGC members and leadership to advance the organization’s mission.
