It's National Library Card Sign-Up Month! While September is almost over, it's never too late to sign up for a library card and take advantage of everything the library has to offer—like books, magazines, movies, puzzles, internet and computers, printing and scanning, museum passes—all for free!

Library cards are free for residents or property owners, and you can sign up online or in person at the library.

We're so glad the kids are enjoying the new materials 🥰

📚 Thank You, Friends of the Library! 📚

The providers and children at IVC would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Friends of the Library for their incredible generosity and support!

They generously granted IVC funds to help us enhance our language and literacy curriculum. These new materials are already favorites among our children, including our felt board, doodle boards, books, letter and picture Magna-Tiles, and listening center materials!

These resources provide our children with engaging, hands-on opportunities to build vocabulary, strengthen communication skills, explore early literacy, and develop a lifelong love of learning. ❤️

We are truly grateful for the love and support you continue to show our program and the children we serve.

Thank you for investing in our littlest learners! 📖❤️

We love our young volunteers! Thanks to Saige Conlan (4) who came by last week and set up our children's book display at Second Hand Prose. She did a great job! Come by and check it out, we're open 10-4 Monday-Saturday.

Photographer Ron Rosenstock gave a wonderful program at Vinalhaven Public Library sharing some his images from more than 50 years of travel around the world. He has generously donated a number of his books to Friends of the Library, now for sale at Second Hand Prose. All proceeds go directly to the Friends, to help fund programs, library improvements, and museum passes on the mainland, among other things. Many thanks to Ron for being a true Friend of the Library!

Thank you to everyone who attended the third annual Friends of the Library reception yesterday! We were so pleased to celebrate our generous members and donors, and chat with photographer Ron Rosenstock, who gave a presentation at the library last night.

We also want to thank librarians Jen and Linda for their time and support, and Island Spirits for the w**e!
