Our next R.A.D. Women class in Vineyard is going to be in March!

These courses are offered in affiliation and partnership with R.A.D. Systems of Self-Defense.

Registration for R.A.D. Women self-defense class with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office in Vineyard is now open!
Classes will be held on Mondays from 6-9 p.m. on March 1, March 8, March 15, & March 22, 2027.

“The R**e Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women.
The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.”

This class is open for females age 12 and up.

Taking a swing at a drug-free future! ⚾🚒

Vineyard Cares and the Utah County Sheriff’s Office Vineyard Division brought families together for “Trash the Car” to kick off Red Ribbon Week! Participants took turns swinging at the car and watched Orem firefighters demonstrate the Jaws of Life.

At the Vineyard Cares booth, attendees helped build a community red ribbon by writing down positive things and safe choices. The ribbon will be displayed at City Hall! ❤️

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Team visited Freedom Prep in Vineyard for Red Ribbon Week! Students got to see these highly trained dogs demonstrate their amazing skills and learn more about the important work they do. Thank you to the team for making the visit memorable! 🐾🚔

Come Trash the Car! 🔨🚗

Join us October 14 from 3–5 p.m. for an afternoon of fun, safety, and smashing things as we kick off Red Ribbon Week!

Bring a hammer or bat to help trash the car, get your child’s car seat checked, watch a Jaws of Life demonstration, help create a giant Red Ribbon for the City Hall, and learn safety tips from first responders!

Bring your crew and join us in making safe and healthy choices. Safety glasses will be provided!

***Patient Update***

Our offices have learned that the child that was involved in this accident is recovering well and expected to heading home from the hospital in the next day or so. We are all really glad to hear this.

Just before 8 p.m. in Vineyard City, a young boy was crossing Center Street, just west of Main Street, on an electric scooter when he was struck by a vehicle. The child was taken by ambulance to Primary Children's Hospital and is in critical condition.

The Utah County Sheriff's Office traffic investigation team was called to the scene to assist with the investigation. The driver of the vehicle has been very cooperative with investigators. During the initial phase of the investigation, it does not appear that impairment is a factor.

This case is still under investigation at this time.

🚌🛑 SCHOOL BUS SAFETY REMINDER! 🛑🚌
School is back in session, which means more school buses—and more kids getting on and off the bus. Let’s all do our part to keep them safe!

🔴 FLASHING RED LIGHTS = STOP!
You MUST STOP when approaching a school bus from the front or rear on a road with fewer than 5 lanes, including the center turn lane.

✅ WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO STOP:
If you're traveling in the opposite direction, you do not have to stop when:
• There is a physical barrier or median separating traffic.
• The road has 5 or more lanes, including the center turn lane.
• The bus is at an intersection controlled by a traffic light or police officer.

⚠️ Please slow down, pay attention, and never pass a stopped school bus when the red lights are flashing.

A few extra seconds can make all the difference. Let’s get our kids to school and back home safely! 🚌💛
