Halloween roads can be full of surprises! Little ghosts and superheroes can appear suddenly, so drive extra cautiously. Stick to low speeds, scan sidewalks and driveways carefully, and keep your attention on the road at all times.

When dropping off kids, have them exit safely on the curb side to avoid traffic. Drive carefully and keep the night full of treats, not tricks!

Keep Halloween fun and safe! Pick costumes that fit comfortably so kids can move freely while they’re out trick-or-treating.

Skip anything that blocks their vision, and if makeup is part of the look, choose non-toxic options and test a small area of skin first.

A little planning helps ensure their costume is more treat than trick!

Kids are kids, and sometimes they play in ways that result in minor cuts, scrapes, and bruises. However, there are other types of bruises that should be a red flag for possible abuse.

TEN-4-FACESp is a useful acronym to help screen children under 4 years of age with bruising to identify when a bruise is more likely to be caused by abuse than accidental injury. The TEN-4-FACESp is not intended to diagnose abuse.

A variety of programs are available at no-cost in Oklahoma to support families and parents and prevent child abuse. Learn more at Oklahoma.gov/health/fsps.
