A big thank you to Allison from MISSION BBQ for stopping by on Friday and treating our Mounted Patrol crew to lunch!

We’re incredibly appreciative of the continued support and kindness shown to our unit. A good meal during a busy day at the barn definitely doesn’t go unnoticed—or uneaten!

Thank you, Allison and the MISSION BBQ team, for thinking of us and keeping our crew well fed! 💙

Touch-a-Truck… Mounted Patrol Style!

This morning, Apollo and Riptide headed to Woodstock Elementary for their Touch-a-Truck event!

There may not be an engine under the hood of these two, but they still showed off one of the oldest—and definitely one of the most popular forms of police transportation.

The students had a chance to meet Apollo and Rip up close, learn a little about Mounted Patrol, and see how our four-legged partners serve the Virginia Beach community.

Mounted Patrol in the Neighborhood!

Yesterday afternoon, Apollo, Prince, and Raider traded the Oceanfront for a neighborhood patrol through Emerald Point.

Neighborhood patrols give our horses valuable experience working in different environments while providing a highly visible police presence and a great opportunity to connect with residents along the way.

Thanks to everyone who stopped to say hello or gave the crew a wave as they rode by!

🏈🐴 Friday Night Lights are BACK! 🐴🏈

Football season is here, and that means our Mounted Patrol crew is back under the lights!

Tonight, we kicked off the season with teams at two games across the city. Sheldon, Rip, and Apollo headed to the Cox vs. Kempsville game, while Raider, Lilly, and Prince spent the evening at Landstown vs. Ocean Lakes.

Friday nights are always a great opportunity for our horses to work around the sights, sounds, crowds, and excitement of game night—all while connecting with students, families, and fans along the way.

Here’s to another season of Friday Night Lights!

Never Forget

Today, the Virginia Beach Mounted Patrol was honored to join MISSION BBQ for their 9/11 Never Forget Memorial, paying tribute to the lives lost and the heroes who answered the call on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and unity shown on that day, and we honor the first responders, service members, families, and countless others whose lives were forever changed.

We are grateful to stand alongside our community in keeping their memory alive.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
