This month, culinary teams at NAS Oceana and Dam Neck Annex Galley served up their skills for special meals celebrating the Navy's 251st Birthday. Behind every meal served to our Sailors is a team of dedicated culinary specialists building their skills and taking our galleys to the next level.

Looking sharp in those Blues, Team Oceana! ⚓

NAS Oceana Sailors participate in a Service Dress Blue uniform inspection ahead of the Oct. 19 winter uniform shift for Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Zone 1, which includes Virginia and North Carolina.

The inspection helped Sailors prepare for the seasonal uniform change and reinforced the standards for wearing Service Dress Blue uniforms.

Be sure to have those SDBs ready before Oct. 19!

🔌 🔋 Whether you are in the barracks, at the office, or home with family, make sure you’re charging your devices safely! Keep our shipmates, colleagues, and families safe by practicing these rules:

- Charge devices on desks, tables, or counters. Never on beds, carpets, or under pillows.

- Use only manufacturer-approved cords and power adapters.

- Don't leave devices plugged in once they are fully charged.

- Charge only when you are awake and nearby. Never leave large batteries charging unattended.

⚠️ Watch for warning signs: If a battery gets extremely hot, swells, or starts hissing, stop using it immediately. In case of emergency: Get out and call 911!

Both NAS Oceana and Dam Neck Galleys are celebrating the Navy’s birthday with special meals open to installation Sailors and civilians.

🥩 NAS Oceana Galley
- Wednesday, Oct. 7 | 1100 - 1300
- Menu: Grilled steak, shrimp, Navy birthday cake, and more!

🦀 Dam Neck Galley
- Wednesday, Oct. 13 | 1030 - 1300
- Menu: Snow crab legs, T-Bone steak, a full dessert bar and more!

⚠️ Base access required: These meals are open to all DoD ID Card Holders (Active Duty, Reservists, Retirees, Dependents, & DoD Civilians with existing base access). No general public access.

📣 CLINIC UPDATE 📣

Starting Monday, October 5, 2026, the Immunizations Clinic at Branch Health Clinic Oceana is moving from a walk-in clinic to scheduled appointments to streamline service and minimize wait times.

🗓️ Operating Schedule:

- Mon & Tue: 7:30-11:50 a.m. & 1-2:40 p.m. (By Appointment)
- Wed: 8-11:50 a.m. & 1-2:40 p.m. (By Appointment)
- Thu: 7:30-11:50 a.m. (By Appointment) & 1-2:40 p.m. (⚓ Walk-In: Active Duty ONLY)
- Fri: 7:30-11:50 a.m. & 1-2:40 p.m. (⚓ Walk-In: Active Duty ONLY)
(NOTE: Closed daily for lunch: 11:50 a.m.-1 p.m.)

🧸 Well-Child Visits: Pediatric Clinic patients scheduled for routine exams can still receive required vaccinations during their visit without a separate appointment.

⚓ Active Duty Personnel: Thursday afternoon and all-day Friday walk-in windows are strictly reserved for Active Duty service members. All family members and other beneficiaries must schedule an appointment.

We are thrilled to celebrate the massive success of the 2026 NAS Oceana Air Show and thank all of those who helped make it happen! This annual event is our way of giving back to the Hampton Roads community and sharing the very best of naval aviation from the flight line of the U.S. Navy's East Coast Master Jet Base.

THANK YOU for celebrating 250 Years of America with us as we honored our nation’s founding, its enduring legacy and the generations of men and women who have answered the call to serve and defend it.
