🎃🚔 Safety First, Spooky Fun! 👻🚸

Officers from the California Highway Patrol Visalia Area, including a CHP motorcycle officer and a commercial vehicle enforcement officer, visited Frank Kohn Elementary School to talk with students about staying safe this Halloween! 🎃

Students learned important safety tips about safely crossing the street, staying alert while trick-or-treating, and how CHP officers work every day to keep our communities safe. 🚔

We appreciate the opportunity to connect with our local students and help prepare them for a safe and fun Halloween!

Remember: Look both ways before crossing, use crosswalks, stay visible, and always watch for traffic. Let’s work together to keep our little ghosts and goblins safe! 👻🧡

It's National Child Passenger Safety Week.

Keeping California's youngest passengers safe is a responsibility we take seriously.
During National Child Passenger Safety Week, the California Highway Patrol reminds parents and caregivers to make sure children are properly restrained in a car seat or booster seat that is appropriate for their age, height, and weight.

CHP officers across California are committed to educating families and promoting safe transportation practices to help protect children on every trip.

Before you hit the road, take a moment to check the seat, check the harness, and buckle up.

Interested in getting your car seat checked or installed for free? Contact your local CHP office.

🚨 Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Stop on SR-99 🚨

A California Highway Patrol Commercial Officer conducted a traffic stop on State Route 99 involving a tractor-trailer combination.
During the inspection, the tractor-trailer was found to be in violation of California Vehicle Code §24002(a) for being operated in an unsafe condition.

The condition of the trailer created a potential hazard to the motoring public and required corrective action before continuing.
Commercial vehicle enforcement helps ensure large trucks and trailers operating on our highways are properly maintained and safe for everyone sharing the roadway.

Safe equipment. Safe drivers. Safer roads. 🚔🛣️

On September 11, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost and honor the courage of the first responders who ran toward danger to help others.

We remember the sacrifices made that day and the lasting impact on our nation.

Today, we pause to remember.

🚨 Officers Respond to Mental Health Crisis 🚨

Visalia Area CHP officers recently responded to a call regarding a possible suicidal subject. Officers located and safely stopped the vehicle and discovered a loaded fi***rm inside. The fi***rm had malfunctioned, with a round lodged in the chamber.

Officers safely secured the fi***rm and the driver was transported for a mental health evaluation.

This incident is a reminder that recognizing the warning signs of a mental health crisis can make a difference. If you notice significant changes in a family member, friend, coworker, or loved one—such as withdrawing from others, expressing hopelessness, talking about su***de, or giving away possessions—take those signs seriously.

You don’t have to handle it alone. Reach out, listen without judgment, and help connect them with professional support. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.

💙 A conversation could save a life.
