Good evening, everyone.
First, I want to sincerely thank the people of Visalia and everyone in Area 4 who took the time to participate in this election.
Although the results were not what I had hoped for, I respect the democratic process and the decision of the voters. I want to congratulate Dr. Todd Otto and wish him the very best as he continues serving our students, families, teachers, and the Visalia Unified School District community.
Running for public office is not something I took lightly. It meant putting myself out there, having difficult conversations, listening to people, and being willing to speak up about issues that I believe deserve attention.
Throughout this campaign, I had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people. Parents shared their concerns with me. Teachers and classified employees trusted me with their experiences. Community members took the time to have conversations and share their hopes for our schools. Those conversations meant more to me than I can put into words.
I entered this race because I genuinely believed there were important issues we needed to address, including transparency, employee retention, special education, school resources, financial accountability, and making sure our students receive the opportunities they deserve.
Just because the election is over doesn't mean these issues disappear.
I want to thank everyone who supported me, encouraged me, shared my campaign, and believed in what I was trying to accomplish. To everyone who voted for me, I am truly grateful for your confidence and trust. And to those who supported another candidate, I respect your decision as well.
Although I will not be joining the school board at this time, please know that my commitment to education, cultural awareness, and our community does not end here. I will continue being involved, listening, advocating, and doing what I can to make a positive difference.
I sincerely hope Dr. Otto will continue listening to the voices of parents, teachers, classified employees, and students. At the end of the day, regardless of who wins an election, we all have a shared responsibility to care about the future of our children and our schools.
I ran this campaign with my heart, my convictions, and a genuine desire to serve the community that has been my home for so many years.
I have no regrets about stepping forward. In fact, I am grateful I had the opportunity. Being on the ballot, meeting so many people, and having my voice heard was meaningful in itself.
Thank you, Visalia, for giving me this opportunity and allowing me to be part of this democratic process.
This isn't goodbye, and it certainly isn't the end of my involvement in our community. It's simply another chapter, and I look forward to continuing to serve in whatever ways I can.
Stronger Schools, Rooted in Culture.
Thank you, everyone. God bless you, our children, and the Visalia community.
I won by being on the ballot and my work will continue in education.
I will continue to work for the community and with Dr Oto to better the students.
