The City of Vista proclaimed May 2026 as Jewish American Heritage Month, honoring the history, culture, and contributions of Jewish Americans.

During the proclamation, community members reflected on Jewish American heritage, resilience, and belonging, while also recognizing local Jewish residents and families who have helped shape Vista’s civic life.

Jewish American Heritage Month traces its roots to Jewish Heritage Week in 1980 and became a national month-long observance in 2006. Today, it serves as an opportunity to learn more about Jewish history in the United States and celebrate the lasting contributions of Jewish Americans in communities across the country.

Water safety starts before the first splash.

Vista proclaimed May 2026 as National Water Safety Month, recognizing the lifesaving importance of swim lessons, active supervision, emergency readiness, and safe habits around pools, beaches, and other bodies of water.

Wave Waterpark and continue to help families build water safety skills through education, programs, and community outreach.

Vista’s water safety pledge:
1.) Never swim alone.
2.) Jump in feet first.
3.) Stay away from pool drains.
4.) Follow all pool rules.

A safer summer starts with a smarter splash.

Vista’s creativity was on full display on May 28 at the Colors of Vista Artists Reception 🎨✨

This exhibit celebrates the stories, culture, and vibrant spirit of our community through the work of local and regional artists.

Free and open to the public through June 12 at the Civic Center on the second floor— come experience the color and heart of Vista!
