"We had 8 little people today and 2 babies! We colored bee pictures and made bees out of toilet paper rolls. Everyone taste tested some honey and they LOVED it! Some even had 3 teaspoons of honey and all of them agreed it tasted just like candy!! We read three books, Bee Dance, You Are A Honey Bee and The Honeybee and The Robber. We did a bee dance and learned how the bees went out to collect nectar from the flowers and brought it back and told the other bees by dancing how they could find the best flowers with lots of nectar to bring back to the hive. They also learned about the queen bee and she was even wearing a crown in one of the stories. We learned from the The Honeybee and The Robber that you don't want to touch a bee or get too close to their hive because the guard bees will see you and you will get stung. But we all agreed that they make delicious honey and we should take care of and protect the bees as much as we can.
We had a new little girl join us today...She is 7 and will be going into 2nd grade. She will come when school is out for the summer and she got her first library card today so I took a picture of her. Welcome to her and her mom! We even got her signed up for Summer Camp in a couple of weeks!"

Storytime - Wednesdays at 10:30

"We did a flannel board story called “Dog and his many colored spots” It’s a cute story about a dog that gets spots along his day ie: pink ice cream from a girl at the park, a blue spot from the painter painting the door etc. By the end Dog ends up with 10 different color spots. Then I reviewed the story to see if the children remembered how Dog got each spot. They actually remembered each spot! We also read We’ve Got The Whole World In Our Hands and Ten In Bed. They loved saying the line “And the little one said Roll Over!”
The art experience was different shaped stickers that they could make a design on the cardboard circle. (Last time I was there they loved stickers so I told them I would bring more the next time. 😉)"

"We had 9 children, one being an older brother of Delilah. We read Where the Wild Things Are, made wild things puppets and dance to a song written about the wild things in the book. It was pretty good. Annebel wanted Slippery Fish too. 😊"

Wednesdays at 10:30, join us!

🚀 " In recognition of Artemis II (2 of the kids knew about it!) we read 3 books about the moon, "Goodnight Moon" "On the Moon" and "Moon". In between stories the kids created a moon using crunched up foil to paint craters. Then painted stars on navy paper to create the sky. They did a great job!! We finished with a couple of songs, "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "I'm Going to the Moon". It was a fun time. As I was saying goodbye to a couple of the moms and Grandma's, I came back to our room and most everything was cleaned up!! These moms are wonderful!!"

"We made Happy Mother's Day cards. Made the moms and Best Mom Award picture and wrote an All About My Mom sheet so she would know how much we love her for Mother's Day on Sunday! I read Mama Do You Love Me?, The Runaway Bunny and Love You Forever to the kids as they worked on their projects. We also made special fruitloop necklaces for both the Moms and the kids and they had a blast doing that. Happy Mother's Day to ALL of you ladies! Thank you for volunteering for Storytime! The kids love each and every one of you and so do the moms!! ❤️❤️"
