Community Information โ€“ Social Media Trend

The Wabasha Police Department is aware of a social media trend circulating on TikTok involving โ€œThe Cat in the Hat.โ€ Some students in our community have received or been forwarded content associated with this trend.

At this time, we are not aware of any specific or credible threat directed toward Wabasha-Kellogg Schools, its students, or staff.

The Wabasha Police Department is working with Wabasha-Kellogg Schools to promote awareness of this trend and to ensure that any concerning information is appropriately reported and evaluated.

We understand that content like this can be concerning to students, parents, and school staff. We ask students and community members not to repost, forward, or otherwise share the content, as doing so can unnecessarily increase concern and make it more difficult to determine where information originated.

If a student receives concerning content, particularly anything that references our school, students, staff, or community specifically, please preserve the message or post and bring it to the attention of a school official or the Wabasha Police Department rather than sharing it with others.

We will continue to communicate with school officials and address any information that raises a legitimate safety concern.

As always, if you see or receive something that concerns you, please say something. Students and parents are welcome to contact a school official or the Wabasha Police Department with any questions or concerns.
