Last week genealogy enthusiasts gathered at the West Waco Library & Genealogy Center for the 25th Annual Genealogy Lock-in!

From beginners to experienced researchers, attendees explored their family roots, learned new research techniques, and connected with local heritage organizations. With help from library staff, volunteers, and genealogy experts, it was a day full of discovery!

West Waco Library was proud to serve as the lead location for this annual event, partnering with more than 75 libraries!

The Great Waco Duck Race is BACK! 💛

Thousands of ducks. One BIG race. All for a great cause! 📚

Join us this Sunday, October 18th, in Indian Spring Park for an afternoon of family fun supporting Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of McLennan County, helping provide FREE books to local children every month!

Enjoy food trucks, games, crafts, storytimes, and more from 12 pm to 3 pm!

Here's the lineup:

Join us for the 25th Annual Genealogy Lock-In on Friday, October 16!

Whether you’re brand new to genealogy or have been researching your family tree for years, spend the day learning from genealogy experts and discovering new resources to help with your research.

WACO LIBRARY — The West Waco Library & Genealogy Center has turned the page on a fresh new chapter!

After a month-long closure for updates, the library welcomed patrons back last week with a refreshed look, including new flooring, accessibility improvements, and fresh paint throughout the space.

Visitors celebrated the reopening with cookies and refreshments while getting their first look at the improvements!

Haven’t stopped by yet? Come check out the updates, find your next great read, explore your family history, work on a puzzle, or simply find a cozy spot to relax and stay awhile.
