We know that we have received abundant rain in the last couple of weeks. But with the sun and the breeze things are beginning to dry out. Until further notice no burn permits will be issued during harvest season. We will reevaluate things as we progress through the harvest season. Thanks for your consideration. Stay safe out there

YOUR COMMUNITY. YOUR FIRE DEPARTMENT. YOUR CHANCE TO SERVE.
WACO VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT — WE NEED YOU!
Waco Volunteer Fire Department proudly serves Waco, Thayer, and the eastern half of York County, responding to around 100 calls each year.

We're your neighbors, friends, coworkers, farmers, parents, teachers, and community members. When the pager goes off, we leave whatever we're doing and answer the call.

And we're looking for more neighbors willing to answer it with us and make a difference in their community.

No experience? That's okay. Training and classes are provided. What matters is a willingness to learn, work hard, be part of a team, and serve your community.

Whether you're interested in firefighting, EMS, or simply finding a way to give back, we'd like to talk to you. There are plenty of ways to serve, and every member brings something different to the department.

You already live in the community. Come be part of the department that protects it.

Stop by, talk to one of our members, or send us a message to learn more.

Interested? Come talk to us.

You don't have to be a firefighter to walk through the door.

You just have to be willing to take the first step.

Yesterday, members of Waco Volunteer Fire Department had the opportunity to participate in house burn training with York Fire & Rescue, along with members from Bradshaw and Henderson.

It was a great day of hands-on training, working together, and gaining valuable experience in realistic fire conditions.

Opportunities like this strengthen not only our individual departments, but the teamwork we rely on when we respond together.

A big thank you to York Fire & Rescue for hosting and to everyone who helped make the training possible.

Lots of good training and a great day working alongside our neighboring departments!

🇺🇸 THANK YOU FROM WACO VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT 🇺🇸
Words really can't express how grateful we are for the turnout at our 25th Anniversary September 11 Remembrance Hamburger Feed.
More than 300 people came through our doors to share a meal, visit with neighbors, spend some time around the fire trucks, and—most importantly—help us remember.

Seeing our firehouse filled with members of the community was incredible. Watching the kids climb into the trucks, put on a fire helmet, and experience a little piece of the fire service made the evening even more special.

One of our favorite parts of the night was inviting everyone to sign the inside of a compartment on our fire truck. What started as an empty piece of metal is now covered with names, messages, and words of support from the community we serve. Those signatures will ride with us long after this event is over.

We were also incredibly touched by the number of people who stopped at the honor table and took time to watch our 25th anniversary remembrance presentation. September 11, 2001 may now be 25 years behind us, but evenings like this remind us why continuing to tell that story matters.

We could not have made this event happen without the people and organizations who supported us. A sincere thank you to:
North Office Supply
,Brittany Hansen
York County Visitors Bureau
Hunter's Lounge
PK's Revival
York Rural Radio
the members of Waco Volunteer Fire Department
York County Communications
York County Sheriff's Office
York County Mutual Aid
and Tri-City LifeNet.

And finally, thank you to our community. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for supporting your volunteer firefighters. Thank you for bringing your children. Thank you for sharing stories, signing our truck, and taking a few moments with us to remember.

Twenty-five years later, the promise remains the same.
We remember those who were lost.
We honor those who answered the call.

We will NEVER FORGET.
