NEWS RELEASE UPDATED 10/14/26
Missing Person Found Deceased

The Waco Police Department understands the community speculation and heartache that surrounds the death investigation of Isaiah Terrell. We ask the public to refrain from speculation and spreading unverified information to help preserve the integrity of this investigation.

The Waco Police Department would like to share the efforts made to find Isaiah after officers received the initial missing persons report.

On October 11, 2026, at 8:13 a.m., Waco Police received a missing persons report stating that Isaiah had been missing since around 1 a.m. The Waco Police Department has no record of calls made before then. Patrol Officers conducted an initial search of the area and spoke with possible witnesses from the time the call came in until 10:30 a.m. At 1:30 p.m., additional resources were deployed, including a drone, and the Texas Game Wardens were contacted to search the water. Search efforts continued until sundown.

On October 12, 2026, at 9 a.m., the Waco Police Department, Texas Game Wardens, and McLennan County Sheriff’s Office revisited Isaiah’s last known location and searched on foot, by helicopter, and by boat. We also want to thank the surrounding community and Terrell’s family, who helped canvass neighborhoods. The Lake Waco Golf Club also helped tremendously, donating over 20 golf carts for the search.

Unfortunately, the search ended at 3:30 p.m. when a Waco Police Department Major Crimes detective noticed Isaiah’s body resurfacing in the body of water that was previously searched by numerous community members, family, officers, investigators, and game wardens.

The Waco Police Department is committed to thoroughly investigating this case, and we ask for patience as we work to establish the facts. Additionally, all witnesses have been cooperative in this investigation. We have ordered an autopsy, and this investigation is ongoing. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

The Waco Police Department is sad to share that 27-year-old Isaiah Terrell, who was reported missing Sunday morning, was found deceased Monday afternoon.

On October 12, 2026, the Waco Police Department Major Crimes Unit was searching the 5600 Block of Flat Rock Rd. when officers located him in a body of water around 3:30 p.m. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death, and next of kin has been notified. This investigation is ongoing.

The Waco Police Department would like to thank all those who spent Monday searching for Isaiah, including the Texas Game Wardens, McLennan County Sheriff’s Office, and many friends and family.
