❄️❤️It's that time of year again❤️❄️

Raffle Tickets are now available as part of the fund raising efforts for our Annual Cops & Kids Event!
100% of the funds collected goes toward the program. All of the safety forces members who participate volunteer their time to make this event memorable for each child.
Children in need who have been selected will spend time talking with officers, fire fighters, and 911 dispatchers while enjoying a delicious breakfast graciously hosted by Water Main Grille. They will then drive in a parade of safety vehicles with lights and sirens through downtown Wadsworth to Target where they will be taken on a Christmas shopping trip.

On October 25th, just after 5 pm the Wadsworth Fire Department received a call for a structure fire on Broad Street between School Drive and Hartman. Upon arrival, fire crews located a metal storage shed on fire approximately 400 feet from the roadway behind the residence. Initial crews deployed and extended a hose lay to reach the fire and extinguish it.

The Wadsworth Fire Department received mutual aid from Norton Fire Department and Chippewa Township Fire Department, along with assistance from the Wadsworth Police Department. We would like to thank all of our mutual aid partners and the Wadsworth Police Department for their assistance. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation at this time.

Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 1 at 2:00 a.m. We'll change our clocks back and get an extra hour of sleep. Don't forget to replace the batteries in your smoke alarms and test them to ensure they're working properly. Smoke spreads quickly in a fire, and working smoke alarms are the best way to alert you and your family to get outside quickly. Test your smoke alarms monthly to ensure they're working correctly.

Here are simple Halloween safety tips based on guidelines from the Nation Fire Protection Association (NFPA):

Lighting and Décor
• Use safe lights: Put glow sticks or battery-operated candles inside jack-o'-lanterns and decorations instead of real flames.
• Keep distance: Keep all decorations away from heaters, light bulbs, and open flames.
• Clear exits: Keep doors, hallways, and windows free of decorations so everyone can escape safely in an emergency.
• Check alarms: Test your smoke alarms to make sure they work.

Costumes and Kids
• Avoid long fabrics: Choose costumes that do not have long, trailing material that can trip people or catch fire easily.
• Carry a light: Give children flashlights or glow sticks so they can see and be seen in the dark.
• Teach fire safety: Tell children to stay away from open flames, including lit pumpkins.

Please be advised, I-76 East to the 57 exit in both directions are closed due to an accident.
