Ever wonder how we get postage on all those absentee ballots? Well, here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at our postage machine hard at work!

So far, the Wagoner County Election Board has:

📬 Mailed: 1,066 absentee ballots
📩 Received: 337 voted ballots
📭 Still Outstanding: 729 ballots

We’ve done our part getting those ballots out the door, now we need your help getting them back!

If you’ve received your absentee ballot, don’t let it become another piece of mail sitting on your kitchen counter. Complete it, follow the instructions carefully, and get it back to us!

Your ballot isn’t counted just because we mailed it. We have to receive it!

Sample Ballots Available for November 3rd General Election

Sample ballots are available for the November 3rd General Election. Voters can view or download a sample ballot using the State Election Board OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp or pick up a copy at the Wagoner County Election Board during normal business hours.

Wagoner County Election Board Secretary Samantha Call, reminds voters that sample ballots are tailored to each voter and their precinct. Only voters that have an election will be able to view a sample ballot in the portal. "If the OK Voter Portal indicates that you have no sample ballots available, it means you are not eligible to vote in and upcoming election. We recommend checking the OK Voter Portal to make sure you have an election before heading to the polls," said Call.

Call said sample ballots will also be posted outside every precinct polling place on Election Day, so voters can review them before casting their votes.

LAST WEEK TO REQUEST ABSENTEE BALLOTS FOR November 3rd ELECTION
The deadline to request absentee ballots by mail is approaching. Applications must be received by the County Election Board no later than 5 p.m. Monday, October 19th.
Wagoner County Election Board Secretary Samantha Call, said absentee voting is available to all voters and applications can be submitted several ways. “In Oklahoma, no excuse is needed to vote by absentee ballot, and it’s easy to apply! Voters can submit their application online, in-person, by fax, mail, or even email,” said Samantha Call.

Voters can apply online using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp. Applications are also available at the County Election Board or can be downloaded at oklahoma.gov/elections.

Call reminds voters that only the applicant can submit his or her own absentee ballot application. It is against the law to submit an absentee ballot application for another person.

As of 10.1.26, 761 Absentee Ballots have been requested and mailed to voters in Wagoner Co for the November 3, General Election.

Postage prices have been increasing, so just imagine what that cost is to get these ballots into the hands of the voters that requested them.

If you requested an Absentee ballot, PLEASE USE IT.

You took the time to request it. Our staff took the time to prepare it. Our County paid for it, Let's complete the process and get those ballots back to us!

Read your instructions carefully, complete your ballot, and make a plan to return it as soon as possible, Don't let your ballot sit unopened on the counter until after Election Day. Mailed absentee ballots must be RECEIVED the the County Election Board no later than 7pm on Election Day to be counted. Give the mail plenty of time to get it back to us.

DEADLINE TO REQUEST ABSENTEE BALLOT FOR November 3 ELECTION APPROACHES

Voters in Wagoner County who want absentee ballots mailed to them for the November 3 General Election should apply now.

Ballots are available to all registered voters, provided they are eligible to
vote in the election requested. No excuse is needed to vote by absentee ballot.
The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot is 5 p.m. Monday, October 19th. Voters can submit a request using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp. Request forms are also available at oklahoma.gov/elections and at the County Election Board office located at 208 N LEE Ave, Wagoner OK 74477.

Voters are reminded to allow time for an absentee ballot to be received, completed, and returned by mail to the County Election Board. “With some exceptions, all absentee ballot affidavits must be notarized before being returned. Voters should give themselves plenty of time to make sure all steps have been followed and that the ballot is returned correctly in order to be counted,” Call said.

Voters exempt from having an absentee ballot affidavit notarized include those who are physically incapacitated and those who care for physically incapacitated
individuals that cannot be left alone. Voters who request a “physically
incapacitated” ballot must have their absentee ballot affidavit witnessed by
two people.

Military personnel and residents living overseas, along with their spouses and
dependents are also eligible for certain allowances. Military personnel should
contact the Voting Services Officer in their unit for an Absentee Ballot Application.
Residents living overseas may obtain Absentee Ballot Applications from any
United States military installation or United States Embassy or Consulate.
Military personnel and overseas citizens who are already registered voters in
Oklahoma may apply for absentee ballots using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp. Those who need to complete a new Voter Registration Application should apply through
the Federal Voting Assistance Program at FVAP.gov.

All completed absentee ballots must be in the hands of the County Election Board nolater than 7 p.m. on Election Day.
