Local K-6th graders participated in a Nature Makers Summer Day Camp this week in Wahpeton at Chahinkapa Park.

It was a busy, fun filled afternoon! Kids had the opportunity to make their own recycled paper, solar ovens, bee habits, nature journals and seed bombs. They also went on a nature scavenger hunt and ended the day with animal yoga.

This was the first of three camps being hosted by NDSU Extension-Richland County. The next two Nature Makers Day Camps will be held in Lidgerwood on July 22nd and in Hankinson on July 30th.

A special thanks to Casey's General Store of Wahpeton for donating the pizza boxes for the solar ovens!
