I need your help.

Our local candidates are working incredibly hard and having tremendous success on doing "persuasion knocks" - talking to individual voters and convincing them to vote for DFL candidates.

Starting this weekend, they're all expected to shift to "GOTV knocks" where they push people to go vote or, if they have a mail ballot in hand, to cast and return that ballot.

I'd like to give them the freedom to keep persuading - since it will help DFL candidates up and down the ticket, including me.

Can you please go to our Mobilize site and sign up for a GOTV knock or phone bank so our candidates can stay on the doors?

Can you share this information for everyone you know to do the same?

On Fox Business, Tom Emmer looked right into the camera and claimed 80% of crime in Minnesota is committed by Somalis. When local reporters at the St. Cloud Times looked up the official state data, they found his numbers weren't just wrong—they were mathematically absurd. Public safety deserves real solutions, not fabricated cable news horror stories. Receipt 18. 📊👀

I have been telling people across the state that the Sixth District is a rapidly-growing source of support for Democratic campaigns — and I’m delighted to see our statewide candidates coming out to help get out the vote in CD6:

- TODAY at 5pm (Thursday 10/22) Peggy Flanagan will be joined by U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy for a GOTV event in Chaska;

- TUESDAY (10/27) we’ll be in St. Cloud with AG Keith Ellison for a door knock and town hall; and

- WEDNESDAY (10/28) we will be hosting our own GOTV rally at Monticello HQ, with lots of special guests as we prepare the final push to Election Day!

I am so grateful and proud of everyone in CD6 for stepping up to support Democrats — and I hope you can join us for one or more of these events to build the energy through November 3.

As we get closer to Election Day, there is a growing chorus of reporting and online chatter suggesting that you should be nervous about the election process.

No. Just no.

I have worked with state and local election officials (and poll workers/election judges) for decades, and I can assure you that they are FANATICALLY dedicated to getting it right. Time and again I have seen them go above and beyond to ensure that eligible voters can cast a ballot.

They work tirelessly because they believe in your right to vote — and you should, too.

Vote like your future depends on it. Because it does.

Doug Chapin is the DFL candidate for Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District, a historically Republican district in central Minnesota.

He believes for the first time since 2014, a Democrat has a shot of unseating incumbent US Rep. Tom Emmer.

Chapin, an attorney and nationally recognized expert on election policy and administration, believes the district is changing.

The area has had an influx of new residents, including out-of-staters, former city dwellers, and younger, more educated, and more diverse residents.

Chapin says voters want a champion for Minnesotans instead of a “rabble-rouser.” Emmer has a history of inappropriate public comments and outbursts.

He also says Emmer has a history of not showing up to the area.

Emmer has a history of staying in Washington DC. The two candidates have not had a public debate because Emmer will not commit to a time and place.

Chapin and Emmer’s only debate was scheduled at Minnesota Farm Fest 2026, but Emmer did not show despite previously saying he would.

In 2015, Tom Emmer co-founded the Congressional Somali Caucus and served as Chairman Emeritus to claim bipartisan credit. Fast forward to late 2025: when attacking Somali Minnesotans scored cheap clicks, he made staff quietly scrub every press release, photo, and mention of the caucus from his site.
