We'd like to congratulate Sheri Fischer on becoming the 2026 MN Sheriffs' Association- Nurse of the Year!! We are honored to share the following from Sheri: "
I’m a became a nurse after I took an unexpected path from graphic arts to healthcare. After raising my two boys, I worked my way from CNA to LPN then RN and discovered my passion for caring for justice involved individuals with dignity and compassion. I helped carry out Anoka County Jail’s vision of breaking away from corporate healthcare and led the transition to Anoka County’s in house correctional medical operations, bringing teamwork, calm communication, and a bit of humor to the challenges of each day. I was honored to receive the Correctional Nurse of the Year Award—a recognition that reflects the work I love and the incredible team I’m fortunate to work alongside. My greatest pride, though, will always be my sons, whose support and laughter make everything possible." Well deserved, friend!!🎉🩺👏
