I’ve spent the last few days leading up to the election reflecting….primarily on the people.
The people who showed up. The people who sacrificed. The people who believed. The people who carried pieces of this journey with me when I was tired, discouraged, hopeful, excited, and everything in between.
Running for office for the first time changed me. It stretched me. It revealed things about leadership, community, relationships, and even myself that I could not have learned any other way.
Some things were affirmed. Some things were challenged. Some things were revealed.
For all of it, I am grateful.
I am walking away from this season with a deeper love for District 9, a greater appreciation for those who have the courage to serve, and a renewed commitment to building stronger communities wherever God calls me to serve.
The campaign is over, but purpose doesn’t end with an election.
I’m going to take some time to rest, to be present with my daughter who sacrificed so much for me to do this, and prepare for what comes next.
For now, my heart is simply full.
Thank you for being part of the journey. 💙💛
