🧦🍂 SOCKTOBER is HERE! 🍂🧦

Little socks. BIG love. ❤️

The Scott County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee is kicking off our Socktober Collection Drive, and we would love for our community to join us!

As the cooler months approach, we want to help make sure students right here in Scott County have warm feet and the things they need.

We’re collecting NEW socks and shoes to give to students in the Waldron and Mansfield communities.

🧦 Collection Deadline: October 28, 2026

📍 Drop-Off Location: Scott County Farm Bureau Office in Waldron, Arkansas

❤️ Donations will be distributed to the Waldron and Mansfield schools.

It doesn’t take a big gesture to make a difference. Sometimes something as simple as a new pair of socks can bring a little comfort, confidence, and a reminder to a child that their community cares about them.

So, while you’re out shopping this month, would you consider picking up an extra pack of socks or a pair of shoes for a local student?

Every donation matters, and every act of kindness adds up!

From all of us ladies on the Scott County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, thank you for helping us love on and serve the communities we call home. ❤️

Let’s fill that collection box, Scott County! 🧦

What a year it has been for the Scott County Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee. ❤️🌾

This year, our focus was simple: show up, serve well, support agriculture, and invest in our community.

Throughout the year, our committee met monthly, attended Arkansas Farm Bureau leadership events, participated in the Legislative Breakfast in Fort Smith, and stayed active in both agricultural advocacy and community service.

We worked with our local schools, FFA chapters, and community partners to support agricultural literacy and youth leadership. We promoted opportunities like M*A*S*H and the Ag Youth Leadership Summit, recognized Ag Students of the Month, read to students, helped with classroom projects, and shared hands-on agricultural education — including the life cycle of chicks and ducks.

We were also grateful to work alongside local agricultural partners like Highland Dairy, whose generous donation helped support the Boys & Girls Club in Waldron and extend that care to even more youth in our community.

We collected school supplies and specific student needs for schools across Scott County and supported our local FFA chapters. We donated food throughout the year and partnered with FFA students to establish a community food pantry outside the Scott County Farm Bureau office — creating a place where neighbors can both give and receive when needed.

During Beef & Rice Month, we donated locally raised Arkansas beef from a Scott County rancher, along with Arkansas rice, to the Mansfield Senior Center for a community meal. It was a simple way to celebrate Arkansas agriculture while putting locally produced food directly on the tables of people in our community.

We also supported Arkansas Farm Bureau Foundation efforts, agricultural literacy programs, Hunters Feeding the Hungry, and other community-focused projects throughout the year.

And we are wrapping up the year at the Scott County Fair with our theme:

Growing Good Things: Agriculture in Action

Our booth highlights the 5 F’s of Agriculture — Food, Fiber, Forestry, Fuel, and Flowers — along with the International Year of the Woman Farmer, helping show just how many ways women contribute to agriculture every single day.

We may not always remember to post every project or every moment, but this committee has been busy doing the work.

Serving families.
Supporting farmers.
Encouraging students.
Feeding our community.
Growing leaders.

That’s what Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership looks like in Scott County. ❤️
