REMEMBERING SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 — NEVER FORGET
Twenty-five years later, we still remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.
Here in Walhalla and Oconee County, we are fortunate to have a place where we can come together to remember and honor the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, as well as the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military personnel, and countless others who answered the call to serve.
The story of 9/11 is becoming history for a generation that was not yet born. That makes it even more important that we continue to tell their stories, honor their sacrifice, and teach our children why we must never forget.
As we approach September 11, take a moment to pause, reflect, and remember.
Remember the lives.
Honor the heroes.
Thank our first responders.
Never forget.
