Kelsi says: "Primarily set at an Abbey during the reign of Eleanor of Aquitaine, this book follows a young, outcast noblewoman as she finds her place among the nuns. I was so impressed with the breadth of themes this book examines in such a short amount of space. Power, creativity, corruption, love, and faith are all explored in such stark prose. I wanted to highlight lines from every page! There were many interesting and diverse characters, but our main character, Marie, shines with such an interesting personality. This was my first time reading Groff, but I'm itching to try her other books now. "
