PSA: To whom it may concern. The picnic tables at the Wallace Park have been removed from the pavilion by the county due to severe damage from vandalism. This is not the first time the tables have been damaged by vandalism and they were repaired. This time they have been replaced but they will remain in town with the park and recreation equipment. If someone wants to use them they will have to call the county and request them.

I do this with a thankful heart and a tear in my eye. I am proud to announce that the Wallace Volunteer Fire Department has received the AFG grant this year not just for one project but for two. The main project that we have been working on for the last couple years and we finally have received it. The Wallace Volunteer Fire Department has been approved for a new Class A Fire Engine. The second project we have been approved for is new Turnout Gear for our firefighters and a specialized washing machine that washes the turnout gear. The Wallace Volunteer Fire Department has definitely been blessed with this news. We would like to thank the staff at Fire Grants Expert for writing the grants for us. They have been very successful for us and the departments around us. We would like to thank Senator Shelley Moore Capito and House of Representative Riley Moore for their letters of support. We would like to thank the citizens of Wallace and the surrounding areas for your financial support through fundraising and donations. Your contributions will help us pay our portion towards these grants. We are only successful with your support. We want to thank our ladies that go out and raise the money to help fund our department. They have worked miracles for our department. I would like to thank Betsy Coffey for being our liaison with Fire Grants Expert. We are excited to get these two projects moving however it will take time before you will get to see us in new gear or see a truck. These things take time to build and deliver. Again we thank all of you for your support.
